Cookie Policy

Cookies are small files that help websites work and give us useful data about how the site is used. Here's exactly what we place on your device, why, and how to turn them off if you want to.

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website saves to your browser when you visit. They help the site work properly, remember your preferences, and give website owners basic information about how their site is being used.

Not all cookies are the same. Some are essential — without them, the site wouldn't function at all. Others are optional and can be switched off without breaking anything. The table in Section 03 breaks down every cookie we use and what it does.

Cookies we set ourselves are called first-party cookies. Cookies placed by tools like Google Analytics or affiliate networks are called third-party cookies — they're governed by the privacy policies of those external services.

How We Use Cookies

We use cookies for four purposes. Essential cookies keep the site running — they're always active. Analytics cookies help us understand which pages are useful and where we can improve. Affiliate cookies track clicks on casino links so we receive correct referral credit. Preference cookies remember small settings like your region or display choice.

We don't use cookies to build individual profiles, serve personalised advertising based on your browsing history across other sites, or track you after you've left austakes.com. If third-party tools do any of that, they operate under their own privacy policies — links are provided in Section 04.

EssentialRequired

These cookies are required for the site to function. They can't be switched off.

AnalyticsOptional

Help us understand how visitors use the site. All data is anonymised before processing.

Affiliate & TrackingOptional

Track clicks on casino links so we receive proper credit for referrals. Set by affiliate networks.

PreferencesOptional

Remember your settings and preferences to personalise your experience.

Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies on our site are placed by third-party services rather than by us directly. We use these services because they help the site work better and give us useful data, but we don't control the cookies they set.

Google Analytics places analytics cookies to help us understand traffic patterns. Google may process this data on servers located outside Australia. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking the _ga and _gid cookies in your browser.

Affiliate networks place tracking cookies when you click a casino link. These help us receive proper referral credit when you sign up or deposit. The affiliate network records the click and conversion — we don't have access to your individual activity on the casino's platform.

Third-party cookies are governed by the privacy policies of the companies that set them. We recommend reviewing Google's Privacy Policy and the privacy policy of any casino you visit.

Managing Your Cookies

You're in control of which cookies are stored on your device. Every modern browser lets you view, delete, and block cookies — either all of them or on a site-by-site basis.

If you block all cookies, some parts of the site may not work correctly. Essential cookies are required for basic functionality, so blocking them could affect your experience. Analytics and affiliate cookies can be blocked without any effect on how the site works for you.

To manage cookies, head to your browser's settings. Here are direct links to the cookie controls for the most common browsers:

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal to websites. There is currently no agreed industry standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, so austakes.com does not change its behaviour based on whether a DNT signal is present. The best way to prevent tracking is to manage your cookie settings directly in your browser as described in Section 05.

Updates to This Policy

We update this Cookie Policy when we add new tools to the site or change how existing ones work. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. If we introduce new cookie categories or significantly change how we use existing ones, we'll make those changes prominent. Continued use of the site after updates means you accept the revised policy.
